Dear Fallen Pastor

“….when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”

-Luke 22:32

Brother, I am so glad you found this ministry.  We love you.  We’re thankful you’re here.

I have stood where you are standing.

Several years ago my sin became very public. I was arrested. My sin made national headlines. I lost almost everything—my marriage, my home, my ministry, my job, my integrity. More painfully, I hurt people. I tainted the name of our God and shamed His name.

There were nights I did not want to wake up. The guilt and shame lead me down a dark path and I began to make plans to end my life.  By God’s mercy alone, He intervened and spared my life.

One day, sitting in a jail cell, a pastor friend came to see me. He told me “Joey, this isn’t the end”.  What a word in due season.

So, hear this from me now, brother:

This is not the end for you.

Hold tightly to Psalm 31:15:
“My times are in Your hand.”

Not the opinions of others.
Not the headlines.
Not in the latest article or social media post about you.
Your times are in His hands.

Let me remind you of some truths you may struggle to believe right now:

God still loves you.
His love for you has not diminished. You are not loved less today than you were before your fall. His love is not dependent on your position or performance.

God can forgive you.
Come to Him with a broken and contrite heart. Forgiveness may not erase consequences, but it does restore your relationship with God. You are not disqualified from being His son.

God is not finished with you.
Your calling may look different. Your path may be quieter than before. But God is a Redeemer. He restores what seems irreparable. His promises this:
“And I am sure of this, that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 1:6)

Brother, Jesus has not turned His back on you. He knows how to restore fallen men and use them again—sometimes not in the spotlight, but always for His glory.

Reach out to me and my team. We have walked this road with many who came before you. We will walk it with you, too. We are here for you and for your family. There is hope. Even now. Especially now.

You are not beyond grace.
You are not beyond restoration.
And you are not alone.
